Which Container Fits Which Job

The 10-yard is sized for light demolition, attic clear-outs and landscaping debris. The 15-yard handles a two-room remodel or a large declutter. The 30-yard is the one for a whole-home cleanout or a major remodel, and it comes with the longer fourteen-day window.

If the job is mostly masonry, skip the standard sizes and book the brick and concrete container instead. Tell us what the tear-out involves and we will point you to the right one before delivery.

Most containers go out within one business day of the order. If a crew is standing on a site with nowhere to put the debris, call (919) 704-0940 for emergency delivery and we will do our best to get a container there; extra fees may apply.

Heavy Debris Belongs in the Brick and Concrete Dumpster

Concrete, brick and block are dense enough to use up a standard container’s included tonnage long before it looks full. That is why Peak keeps a separate 15-yard container for brick and concrete, rented for up to seven days.

Keeping masonry apart from lumber, drywall and packaging keeps each load where it belongs and avoids an overweight charge on a container that is half empty.

What Cannot Go in a Construction Dumpster

A short list of materials is refused, and additional fees apply if they turn up in a load. On a job site the ones to watch are asbestos, lead paint chips and petroleum-contaminated soil, railroad ties, dirt, liquid paint (fully dried latex cans are fine), solvents, oils and other liquids, propane tanks and tires.

Appliances, mattresses, televisions, computers and monitors are also refused. If a demolition turns up something you are unsure about, call before it goes in the container.

Street Placement and Permits in Raleigh

On most jobs the container sits on the driveway or inside the lot, and no permit is involved. When any part of it has to occupy a street, parking space or sidewalk in Raleigh, the City requires a right-of-way permit, applied for through its Permit and Development Portal under the category for street, lane and sidewalk closures and dumpster or POD placement, with a site map or plan.

Other towns in our area have their own rules for the public right-of-way. We will talk through placement before delivery so the container goes somewhere it can legally stay.

Protecting Driveways and Finished Surfaces

Late in a build, the container often has to sit on concrete or pavers that have just gone in. Rubber wheels and pad protectors under every Peak container spread the load and keep steel off the surface.

The smaller trucks also mean less weight on the approach, and fewer tight turns that can scuff curbs and landscaping on the way in.

Rental Periods on Phased Jobs

Demolition and framing rarely line up with a seven-day window. The 30-yard carries fourteen days, and any container can stay longer at a daily rate for extra days. On a phased project we can pull a full container and drop an empty one so the crew is not waiting on disposal.

Plan the swap a day ahead and the site keeps moving.

Where We Deliver Construction Dumpsters

Our service area starts in Apex and runs out about 15 miles to cover Wake, Durham and Chatham counties, including Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Garner, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Pittsboro and Sanford. Jobs beyond that radius can usually be served with an added charge for the extended area.
